Why do I need a transfer PIN for transfers?
A transfer PIN adds an extra layer of security to ensure that only authorized individuals can initiate transfers from your account.
How do I set up a transfer PIN for transfers?
To set up a transfer PIN, simply log in to your Flutterwave account, and follow these steps:
To create a transfer PIN, navigate to the 'Payment' section of your dashboard and initiate a transfer, or click on the 'Create transfer PIN' banner at the top of your payment dashboard.
Create your 6-digit PIN and select your 2 preferred security questions, then provide the answers to those questions.
An OTP will be sent to your email.
Input the OTP to create your transfer PIN successfully.
You can follow these steps as a business owner/administrator to set up your preferred means of authentication for you and other collaborators on your dashboard:
Go to your account Settings.
Click on ‘Business Preferences’.
Navigate to Security.
Click on "Two-Factor Authentication for Transfers" and select the type of authentication you want to enable for your transfers.
Kindly note that only the business owner and administrators can view the settings page. Collaborators will only be able to access the settings page to change their PIN after they have created their transfer PIN.
How to change or reset your transfer PIN
To change your transfer PIN, simply log in to your Flutterwave account, and follow these steps:
Navigate to ‘Settings’ on the menu.
Select ‘Business Preference’ and go to ‘Security.’
Click on "Change transfer PIN" to change your 6-digit transfer PIN.
Enter your current 6-digit PIN. Ensure the PIN you are entering is correct. If you have forgotten your PIN, select 'Forgot Transfer PIN' to reset it.
Enter your new 6-digit transfer PIN.
Confirm your new PIN by entering it again.
Save the changes and your PIN will be changed successfully.
You can follow the steps below to reset your PIN if you’ve forgotten it:
When initiating a transfer on your dashboard or changing your PIN in your dashboard settings, select "forgot transfer PIN".
Answer the security question you initially provided when setting up your transfer PIN, input your new PIN, and input the OTP sent to your email address
Once authenticated, you can set a new PIN.
Confirm your new PIN and your PIN will be reset successfully.
What should I do if I can't reset my PIN or change my PIN due to multiple incorrect attempts?
If you enter the wrong PIN three times while trying to change it, you will be disabled from using the change PIN feature. You will need to reset your PIN to proceed. Note: You will receive a notification via your registered email informing you of the block and advising you to change your PIN. Please chat with us on your dashboard for further assistance if you suspect unauthorized access.
If you enter the wrong security answers 5 times while resetting your PIN, you will be disabled from using the reset PIN feature. Please chat with us via the chatbot on your dashboard for further assistance.
What if I forget the answers to my security questions?

Is there an expiration period for the OTP sent to my email during the PIN creation or reset process?
The OTP will expire in 5 mins
What should I do if I don't receive the OTP email during the PIN creation or reset process?
If you don't receive the OTP email, first check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there, try requesting a new OTP. If the issue persists, it chat with us for further assistance.
What steps should I take if I suspect that someone else knows my transfer PIN or has unauthorized access to my account?
Kindly reset your PIN and change your account password. You may also chat with us via the chatbot on your
dashboard for further assistance if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
Can I create a transfer PIN for my collaborators?
All collaborators who have access to initiate payouts on a Flutterwave for Business account must create their own transfer PIN. Without a transfer PIN, you will not be able to make transfers from your dashboard.
As an admin or owner do I need to create a transfer PIN?
Yes, as an admin or owner of the account, you also need to create your own transfer PIN. This ensures the security and proper authorization of all transactions on the account. If you do not create a transfer PIN, you will be unable to make transfers or approve/disapprove transactions from your dashboard.
