Flutterwave merchants are enabled to receive payments from their customers via multiple payment methods, one of which is Bank Transfer. As a Flutterwave merchant, the Pay With Bank Transfer (PWBT) method enables your customers to pay you by transferring the funds from their bank account. This solution is available to merchants in Nigeria and Ghana. To receive payments via this payment method, you need to enable Bank Transfer on your Flutterwave dashboard. 

How do I enable Pay With Bank Transfer? 

To enable Pay With Bank Transfer (PWBT), follow these steps:

• Log in to your dashboard

• Navigate to Settings > Click on Business Preferences

• Go to the Payment Methods tab > Scroll to the Bank Transfer section

• Click on the Enable button 

NB: For Non-GH merchants, the PWBT Ghana payment method is only available on request. To get access to the feature: 

• Click on the request access button 

• You will receive an email with a ticket ID that can be used to track your request.

• Our Team will review your request and you will get a decision within 48 hours. 

• If your request is approved, you’ll be able to receive bank transfer payments from your customers in Ghana.

Why was my request declined?

As a non-GH merchant, your request to accept bank transfer payments from your customers in Ghana may be declined. Here are some reasons why your request may be declined: 

• Incomplete KYC documentation: Your request may be declined if you haven’t submitted all the necessary KYC documents needed to verify your Flutterwave account. Ensure that all your documents are submitted before requesting access to this payment method. Visit this link to see the documents required to complete onboarding on Flutterwave.

• Suspicious activity/transaction pattern: Flutterwave regularly reviews all accounts for suspicious activities or transaction patterns. If we detect such activity, your request for the Pay With Bank Transfer GH payment method may be declined so we can further review your account. 

• Non-compliance with regulations: Following all regulations and compliance standards helps us keep all transactions safe and secure. Failure to comply with regulations might result in your request being declined. Learn about our policy here to stay compliant.

Steps to complete a Pay with Bank Transfer GH payment

To complete a Pay with Bank Transfer GH (Ghana) payment, please follow these steps: 

1. Select Bank Transfer from the available payment options on a Flutterwave checkout page.

   

2. The virtual account details (Account Number, Bank Name, Beneficiary) will be displayed to you.

3. Launch your bank application.

4. Input the account number displayed.

5. Select Instant Pay as the transfer mode.

6. Authorize and Confirm Payment.

7. Select "I have made the payment" on Flutterwave checkout.

Ensure that you transfer the exact amount that is displayed to prevent transaction delays or failures. 

NB: The virtual account number displayed to you expires in one hour. Kindly complete your transfer within this timeline. 

How long does it take for the funds to reflect in your wallet?

Bank transfer payments are processed instantly to your Flutterwave collection balance, which is then settled to your preferred settlement destination within 24 hours. 

What is the pricing for bank transfer payments?

PWBT Nigeria: 1.4% of the amount, capped at NGN 2000 per transaction

PWBT Ghana: 2% of the amount. Transactions exceeding 20,000 cedis may incur an additional E-Levy fee of 1% of the taxable amount. This is calculated by the Ghana Revenue Authority and debited directly from the sender’s bank account. Please visit this page for further information on this tax.
