About The Payout Pause In Cameroon

As a Cameroonian merchant, you will no longer be able to send money from your XAF balance to any other currency’s balance, bank account, or mobile money (Momo) on Flutterwave. You will only have access to your XAF balance and you will not be able to operate balances in other currencies. This restriction is enforced on our APIs and the dashboard. Additionally, there is no timeline for lifting this restriction.

Why was this restriction implemented?

This restriction is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Can I collect payments in other currencies?

Yes, you can still collect payments in other currencies. However, these payments will be converted and settled in your XAF balance.

Can I Initiate a XAF Payout to another currency?

No, you cannot convert XAF to another currency when initiating a payout to bank accounts, Momo wallets, transfers to other Flutterwave accounts, or any other type of outflow from your XAF balance.

Can I be settled in another Flutterwave wallet?

No, you cannot receive funds or be settled in other Flutterwave balances. You can only hold and receive funds in your XAF balance.

Will this update affect my existing balances in other currencies?

If you currently hold balances in other currencies, they will be converted and credited to your XAF balance. You can download your settlement report from your dashboard to view the exchange rate used for the conversion. If you have any issues please send us a chat for further assistance.
