Onboarding Requirements for Using Flutterwave in Uganda

You can operate an unregistered business account, a registered business account (Sole proprietorship or Limited Liability Company), or a non-profit organisation. The KYC requirements depend on the type of business created.

Individual account

  • National I.D. Cards (both sides), Driving License, or International passport

  • Bank reference letter

Other requirements;

  • Verifiable website URL or social media website

  • Business profile

  • Business physical address

Business (Limited Entities)

  • Certificate of Incorporation

  • Certified Memorandum and articles of association

  • URA Pin certificate

  • Directors National I.D. Cards (both sides), Driving License or International passport

  • A canceled cheque or a Bank reference letter

  • Operating License (if applicable)

Other requirements;

  • Verifiable website URL

  • Business profile

  • Business physical Address

Business (Sole Proprietorship)

  • Registration documents

  • Valid means of ID

  • Copy of Utility Bill or Business Photo

  • Canceled cheque or letter from Bank confirming Bank details

  • Verifiable website

  • URL Business profile

  • Business physical address

NGOs

  • Certificate of Registration

  • Permit to operate an NGO issued by NGO Board

  • Certified Memorandum and articles of association

  • Board resolution letter signed by directors of the NGO

  • URA PIN certificate - (No available way of verifying)

  • Directors National I.D. Cards (both sides), Driving License or International passport

  • A canceled cheque or a Bank reference letter confirming Bank account details

  • Verifiable website URL

  • Accepted IDs (coloured copies only)

  • International Passport, Identity Card

When verifying your Flutterwave, ensure that the information submitted is accurate to prevent any delay to your account activation.

You can accept payments from your customers via card and mobile money.

Settlement Schedule

Settlements for local transactions are processed within 24 hours while foreign settlements are processed in 5 days. Click here to know how to view your settlement due date.

Payout Processing Time

Bank payouts are processed within 24 hours while mobile money payouts are processed instantly. Please chat with us if you have any issues with your transfer.

Refund Timeline

Refunds for card transactions and mobile money transactions are processed within the following timelines:

Card Refunds: Processed within 3 - 15 business days

Mobile Money Refunds: Processed within 1 - 7 days
