What is AfriGo and how does it benefit my business?
AfriGo is a domestic card scheme launched by the Central Bank of Nigeria in partnership with the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc (NIBSS). Accepting AfriGo cards allows you to expand your business to customers with AfriGo cards.
Can my customers make payments to me using their AfriGo cards?
Yes, you can receive payments from your customers on Flutterwave via their AfriGo cards. To do that, ensure that you have submitted the necessary KYC requirements and have enabled card payments on your Flutterwave dashboard. To do this:
Log into your Flutterwave dashboard
Navigate to Settings
Click on payment methods and enable card payments.
This allows your customers to use their AfriGo cards to make payments seamlessly.
What are the fees associated with AfriGo card transactions?
For local payments, the fees are as follows:
Transaction Fee: 1.4% of the transaction amount, capped at NGN 2000.
Stamp Duty: NGN 50 applies to all payments above NGN 10,000.
VAT: 7.5% is charged on all Flutterwave fees (including transaction, transfer, and foreign processing fees).

Can I pass the transaction fees to my customers?
Yes, the transaction fee can be passed on to your customers. To do this, follow these steps:
Log in to your “Flutterwave Dashboard,”
Navigate to “Settings,”
Click on “Business Preferences,”
Go to “Fee Settings,“
Enable "Charge My Customer."
What is the settlement timeline for AfriGo card transactions?
The settlement is done in T+1 (next day). Your funds are settled within 24 hours to your preferred settlement destination - either your Bank Account or Flutterwave Payout Balance.
Can I initiate refunds for AfriGo card transactions?
Yes, refunds can be processed on your dashboard or via the refunds API. Please note that refunds are processed within 3-15 business days. Check here for more information on how to initiate a refund from your Flutterwave dashboard.
How can I get an AfriGo card?
You can obtain an AfriGo card from any commercial bank in Nigeria.
Can AfriGo transactions work for subscription payments?
No, AfriGo transactions currently do not support subscription payments.
Are there any hidden/extra costs for AfriGo card transactions?
No, there are no hidden fees.
Can an AfriGo card be used for international payments?
No, AfriGo cards are designed for domestic use within Nigeria and cannot be used for international payments. You’ll be informed if that changes.
What currencies are supported with AfriGo card transactions?
Currently, only the Nigerian Naira (NGN) is supported.
