What is Tuition?

Tuition is an education payments platform that helps African students studying in Africa or overseas to pay their school fees seamlessly and on-time, using their local currency.

Which country can I pay from?

We currently support payments from the following countries: Cameroon, Uganda, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.

Which institution can I pay to?

You can now make payments to institutions in the United Kingdom. If you don't see your institution listed, don't worry. Just click on "This institution is not on our list" and fill out the form that appears. We'll make sure to reach out to you promptly.

What payment methods are available?

You can pay using your debit card, credit card, Apple Pay (UK only), Google Pay, or by bank transfer (Nigeria only).

What rate is used for my payment?

We use the current market rates to determine the payment rate. You can check the daily rates whenever you attempt to make a payment, so you always know how much your institution will receive.

What are the fees for using Tuition?

We charge a flat fee of 75 GBP for payments to schools in the United Kingdom and a flat fee of 100 CAD for payments to schools in Canada. Swift fee: SWIFT payments typically incur a foreign exchange (Forex) fee when the currency of the sender and recipient’s currencies differ. This fee is charged to convert the funds from one currency to another and can vary depending on the exchange rate and the bank’s policy. BDC fee: A “bureau de change” (BDC) fee is a fee or commission charged by a financial institution or currency exchange service when you exchange one currency for another.

How can I confirm that my school has received the payment?

If the transfer status is "Successful", the payment has been delivered to your institution. To confirm this, click on the "Download receipt" button to download your payment receipt. You can then share this receipt with your institution for confirmation.
