What is eNaira?

eNaira is a digital currency issued by the Nigerian government with the same value as fiat naira (i.e. physical naira notes).

How eNaira Works

Customers can make payments to merchants via a Flutterwave payment gateway by downloading the eNaira app from their app store and funding their eNaira wallet from their bank account.

Payment Options Available on eNaira

eNaira provides customers with the option of completing their payments via 3 distinct payment methods, which are:

• Pay with eNaira QR

• Pay with eNaira Token

• Direct wallet debit

How To Enable eNaira

Follow these steps to enable the eNaira payment method on your Flutterwave dashboard:

• Log in to your dashboard

• Click on ‘Settings’ > ‘Business Preference’

• Go to ‘Payment methods’ and click ‘Enable eNaira’

How To Make Payments via eNaira

Here’s how you can complete a payment via the eNaira payment method:

• Select ‘eNaira’ on a Flutterwave checkout page

• Select your preferred eNaira payment options: QR, Token, or Direct wallet debit

• Follow the instructions to complete your payment

What are the transaction charges?

We charge a 2% transaction fee (1.4% transaction fee + 0.6% platform fee) for eNaira payments. Read more here.
