How To Top Up Your Payout Balance

Your payout balance contains funds that are available to you for transfers and payments. Your payout balance must be funded for you to be able to initiate transfers from your Flutterwave account. You can fund your payout balance by:

  • Receiving payments in different currencies which is then settled to your payout balance, if enabled

  • Making a transfer to your virtual account number

  • Wallet transfer from a different currency.

This guide shows you how to fund your Flutterwave balance via your virtual account number and wallet transfer.

Funding via virtual account numbers

1. Log in to your Flutterwave dashboard

2. Navigate to ‘Balance’, then click the ‘Fund balance’ button

3. Select the Balance you wish to fund (NGN, USD, GBP, EUR, or AED)

  • PS: Your account must be enabled before you can fund your USD, EUR, GBP, or AED balances.

4. To fund your NGN balance, click the ‘Fund balance’ button

5. You'll see your Flutterwave MFB virtual account number

6. Copy the account number and make a transfer from your mobile banking app. The funds will be added to your payout balance

7. To fund your USD, EUR, GBP, or AED balance, copy the account number displayed to you and make a transfer from your mobile banking app

8. You can proceed to make transfers (single or bulk) to bank accounts, mobile money wallets, and other Flutterwave accounts.

Funding via wallet transfer

To fund other balances via currency transfer, please follow these steps:

  • Navigate to the Payments page and click on ‘Transfer’

  • Select ‘Transfer between currency balances’

  • Select the balance you wish to transfer from and the recipient’s currency.

  • Upload your CSV file and follow the steps to complete the transfer.

What currencies can I fund?

You can fund your NGN, USD, EUR, GBP, and AED balances by making a transfer from your banking app. To fund other currencies, initiate a transfer between your currency balances.
