Every move counts

Our story of expanding the once-narrow pathway of payments is sometimes captured in transactional volume milestones. Yet these figures only scrape the surface of the progress we’ve made.

The unique transactions processed on our rails over the past decade tell parts of our ever-unfolding story — one shaped by scale, trust, and continuous evolution

The great interoperable sprint

In 2025, we secured key licenses in Senegal, Zambia, and Cameroon, extending our lead as the most licensed non-bank entity in Africa - with the 'non-bank' likely changing soon.

Through our strategic partnership with Nuvion, we unlocked full regulatory coverage across the United States, United Kingdom, EU, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Canada, and Bahrain.

With this depth of coverage, payments initiated in Africa can now settle seamlessly across these markets. This connectivity enabled Air Peace to launch new routes into the United Kingdom using Flutterwave, and facilitated Send App's return to all U.S. states. Now, imagine the possibilities for the average African business and people across the continent.

The continental connection

In 2025, our platform enabled governments to digitize payment collections, provided businesses with secure identity verification for millions of users, supported a leading ride-hailing and logistics platform in Egypt to process payments through Fawry, and made growth the common thread connecting multiple sectors across Africa

Gold to the alternatives

The standout performance in 2025 came from Alternative Payment Methods (APMs). By investing heavily in offering frictionless access to localized options across Africa, we enabled businesses to prioritize speed, reach, and customer experience - while optimising for reliability at scale.

Here is how alternative payment methods transactions increased across all markets, compared to the previous year:

Take notes from Ghana

In Ghana, alternative payment methods boomed. Momo grew by 7x compared to the previous year, and Pay with Bank Transfer (PWBT) surpassed this milestone driven by global corporations operating in the market.

Enterprises required a solution for large-scale transactions that other payment methods could not support; with PWBT, smoother operations were unlocked for global enterprises, particularly for Asian payment service providers relying on virtual accounts to manage high-volume trade. See how this method fared in Ghana in 2025.

V4 is Live

The most important part of our infrastructure is our APIs, this is where the smartest ideas come to life. In 2025, we rebuilt our APIs to make them faster, safer, and more predictable.

Built with real developer feedback at the core, the new flows track every call, ensuring zero-friction execution when developers build on our rails

Going faster together

Unmatched infrastructure depth thrives on partnerships that function as core components of who we are.

By including key partners in our roadmap, we are closing the gap in our ambition to build a digital economy optimized for the future and Africa’s rising economic traction.

  • Chpter AI

Earlier in 2025, we partnered with East African startup Chpter AI to power the next generation of social commerce across 11 markets (including Ghana, Senegal, and Egypt). Customers can now browse and pay seamlessly via WhatsApp and Instagram, with Flutterwave processing payments in local currencies

  • Global Remit & Clear Junction

To help businesses scale in the EU and UK, we expanded our infrastructure to support multi-currency virtual accounts (AED, GBP, EUR, USD). This accelerates global fund flows and simplifies international collections.

  • Polygon Labs & Circle

We are building Africa’s largest stablecoin infrastructure. For enterprises, this unlocks near-instant settlement using USDT and USDC, bringing our stablecoin infrastructure closer to full readiness

Stablecoin corner

Near-instant payment experiences are the ambition behind our stablecoin integration. In 2025, we built the foundational infrastructure and compliance framework required to support stablecoins at scale.

2026 marks the transition from groundwork to readiness. As regulatory frameworks mature across jurisdictions, businesses and individuals will be able to transact using stablecoins with speed, security, and certainty - all on a single, compliant platform.

The future of commerce is open

In 2025, we accelerated our path toward becoming the default financial operating system for Africa. Our goal has always been to build a future where local financial services are not restricted, but powered by real-time, authenticated payment methods on a single platform.

By moving beyond transactions to owning the infrastructure layers that enable data access, identity verification, and account-to-account payments, we are building a more interoperable ecosystem where the new era of payments and commerce in Africa are defined on Flutterwave
