The Infrastructure Beneath the Coin

From Day One, Flutterwave will place stablecoin balances in the hands of over one million users. We understand the magnitude of that responsibility. No one has done this at this level in Africa before.

To manage this scale, we are combining blockchain technology with the infrastructure that makes it usable in the real world. This is where our acquisition of Mono becomes critical. Stablecoins are only as useful as their ability to interact with the real economy.  

The Standards We Locked In

To navigate this complexity, we anchored ourselves around three “non-negotiables.” :

• Predictability:  Every action must behave exactly as the user expects.
• Explainability: If value moves, the system must be able to explain itself clearly and completely.
• Intentional Design: Even when the “process” is complex, the product feels reliable and considered.

Technical Milestones: Moving Real Value

From a product standpoint, we recently crossed an important threshold. We validated live, end-to-end stablecoin flows across inbound and outbound transfers, as well as NGN and USD conversions to and from USDT and USDC. These flows behaved as designed under real conditions, with predictable settlement behavior and verifiable outcomes.
