How do I pay on Tuition?
To make a payment to your school, start by visiting https://flutterwave.com/tuition. Then, click on **Make Payment** to begin.
Institution Information
Enter the name of your institution to search or select it from a dropdown list, then continue.
If you can't find your institution, select the "I can't find my institution" option to let us know.
Payment Information
After selecting your institution, enter the country you are making payment from, the amount and currency you're paying, and your institution's account information.
Once you've entered the information above, click "Continue" to proceed. Please note that you are required to upload an invoice (received from your school) for the payment you want to make.
Student Information
Next, enter your student information. Please note that this information will be sent to your institution along with the payment you're making. Please note that you are required to upload your student ID or admission letter.
Review and Confirm the Information
Review the institution information, payment information, and student information, and ensure that the information provided is correct. To make changes, click the "EDIT" button.
Once you've confirmed that the information you provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge, click "Continue" to proceed with payment.
Payment Method
Please select your preferred payment method:
Debit Card / Credit Card:
Choose your preferred card and proceed to payment
To add a new card, click the "Add a new card" button
Enter your card details, including the card number, expiry date, CVV, cardholder name, city, state, and postal code
Click the "Proceed to pay" button to complete the payment.
Apple Pay (UK only):
Select the Apple Pay option on the payment page
You will be redirected to Apple Pay's secure portal to authenticate and complete the payment.
Google Pay:
Select the Google Pay option on the payment page
You will be redirected to Google Pay's secure portal to authenticate and complete the payment.
Pay With Bank Transfer (Nigeria Only):
Select the Pay with Bank Transfer option on the payment page
A unique bank account number will be generated on your screen
Proceed to make a bank transfer to the displayed account number using your preferred verified account that matches your name
Once you have made the transfer, click the "I have made payment" button
You will receive an email with instructions on how to track your payment. The status of your payment will be updated regularly from the point of payment to the point where your payment is delivered to your institution.
How can I track my payment?
You can check your payment status in two ways:
Email: We will email you updates on your payment, including when we receive it and when we send it to your school.
Tuition account: Log into your Tuition account to view, track, and manage your payments.
How can I cancel a payment?
If the payment to your institution hasn't been processed yet, you can ask to cancel it by raising a dispute for that payment. Please remember that you can't cancel a payment that's currently being processed (in processing status) or has already been paid out to your institution. If that's the case, you'll need to get in touch with your institution and request a refund or reversal.

After making a payment, the time it takes for us to receive it depends on the payment method used.
Card, Apple Pay (UK Only), Google Pay:
We typically receive payments a few minutes after they are successfully made. If the status of your payment is "Pending", it means that we are still waiting to receive or verify the payment. Once we have received the payment, the status gets updated to "Processing", indicating that we are currently processing the payment to your institution. If the status of your payment does not get updated from "Pending" within 24 hours after you made the payment, please log a dispute for the payment and we will review it.
Bank Transfer (Nigeria):
We should receive your payment within 24 hours from the date your bank releases the funds. The status of your payment might be "Pending" during the confirmation period, which means that we are still waiting to receive or verify the payment. Once we have received or verified the payment, the status gets updated to "Processing", indicating that we are currently processing the payment to your institution.
If the status of your payment does not get updated from "Pending" within 24 hours after your bank has released the funds, please log a dispute for the payment and we will review it.
Why is my transfer taking too long?
The time it takes for school fee payments to arrive depends on which country your school is in. If your payment is taking too long, it could be because of one of the reasons below:
The bank your school uses is not available when we try to send the payment. We will keep trying to send the payment.
You did not give us all the documents we need (like the invoice or student ID) when you set up the payment. Please contact Support right away.
Where can I get a receipt for my payment?
Your payment receipt will be available for download only after your payment has been processed and delivered to your institution. Please note that the status displayed on the receipt will represent the status of your payment at the time of download. You can access your receipt through any of the following options: Email:
A link to access the payment receipt will be provided in the email that will be sent to you.
Tuition account:
Log in to your Tuition account, select the relevant payment, and click on the "Download receipt" button to download the receipt.
What does my payment status mean?
We'll always provide you with real-time updates on the status of your payment and descriptions of what they mean. You can view a payment status by clicking on the particular payment you want to track.
Successful
We received your payment and successfully delivered to your institution.
Failed
We did not receive your payment. If you were charged for the payment please log a dispute for the payment and we will review it.
Canceled
You canceled your payment because you did not make a payment.
Processing
Your payment has been received and is currently on its way to your institution. The status changes to "Successful" when the payment has been delivered to your Institution.
Requires Action
We could not confirm receipt of your payment. In cases like this, we usually require you to let us know if you have made payment by presenting you with 3 options. Depending on the option you select, your payment status will be updated as well. Select "I've paid" - Reported Select "I've not paid" - Cancelled Select "I want a refund" - Pending Refund
Reported
You informed us that you have made payment. Next, we'll check to confirm that we received your payment. This process takes between 1 - 3 days. As soon as we confirm that your payment is with us, we will process your payment to your institution. If we are unable to confirm your payment, the status changes to "Failed".
Pending
We are waiting to receive your payment from your financial institution.
Refunded
We have completed the refund for your payment and it is currently on its way to the source account. Time for us to complete a refund: 3 - 5 business days Time for the refund to arrive in the source account:
Debit / Credit Card: 5 - 10 business days Bank Account (Nigeria): Within 24 hours Bank Account (Other countries): 3 - 5 business days We will notify you via email as soon as we complete a refund. Once we have completed the refund, you would need to wait for the refund to arrive. If you do not receive your refund after the deadline (duration we specified for your refund), please log a dispute for the refund and we will investigate this.
Pending Refund
A review is currently ongoing to confirm that we received your funds. Confirmation will be done within 48 hours and the payment status will be updated to "Refunded" as soon as a refund is processed. Please note that if we do not receive your payment, the refund request will be declined and the payment status will be updated to "Canceled". We advise that you engage your bank for a reversal If you were debited for the transfer.
Pay with Debit Card / Credit Card
How do I pay with a Debit/Credit Card?
Select the debit card option on the payment page.
Continue with a saved card or enter your debit/credit card details (Full name, card number, expiry date, CVV, billing country, billing address, billing city, billing state, postal/zip code) and click the Pay button.
You will be redirected to your card provider’s secure portal to authenticate the payment.
We typically receive payments a few minutes after they are successfully done. The status of your payment might be "Pending", which means that we are still waiting to receive or verify the payment. Once we have received or verified the payment, the status gets updated to "Processing" which indicates that we are currently processing the payment to your institution.
What type of card can I make payment with?
Mastercard, Visa, and Discover cards are supported
Are there extra fees or hidden charges when paying via debit/credit card?
Please note that you might be charged a fee to cover extra processing costs by your bank. Kindly contact your bank for clarification if you have been charged extra fees for your payment.
Please note that the actual amount you would be debited might vary if your Card's local currency is different from the currency you indicated that you are paying on Tuition. e.g using a Naira card to charge USD
Pay with Apple Pay (UK Only)
How do I pay with Apple Pay?:
To complete your payment via this method;
Select the Apple Pay option on the payment page.
You will be redirected to Apple Pay's secure portal to authenticate and make payment.

Once we have received or verified the payment, the status gets updated to "Processing" which indicates that we are currently processing the payment to your institution.
Are there limitations to the use of Apple Pay?
Payments via Apple Pay are only supported on Safari browsers in line with Apple's product specifications. Non-Safari users will not be able to complete their transfers with the "Pay with Apple Pay" payment option.
This payment option is only available to IOS users
This payment option will only be displayed when you're paying USD, GBP or EUR
Are there extra fees or hidden charges when paying with Apple Pay?
Please note that we do not charge extra fees and there are no hidden charges when making payment for your transaction via Apple Pay. The total amount you will pay will be displayed on your screen when you set up your payment on Tuition.
Pay with Google Pay
How do I pay with Google Pay?
To complete your payment via this method;
Select the Google Pay option on the payment page.
You will be redirected to Google Pay's secure portal to authenticate and make payment.

No, there are no limitations to the use of Google Pay
Are there extra fees or hidden charges when paying with Google Pay?
Please note that we do not charge extra fees and there are no hidden charges when making payment for your transaction via Apple Pay. The total amount you will pay will be displayed on your screen when you set up your payment on Tuition.
Pay with Bank Transfer (Nigeria Only)
How do I Pay with Bank Transfer?
To complete your payment via this method;
Select the Pay with Bank Transfer option on the payment page and a unique bank account number would be generated on your screen
Proceed to make a bank transfer to the displayed account number using your preferred account that matches your verified name on send.
Once you have made the transfer, tap on the “I have made payment” button
We should receive your payment within 24 hours from the date your bank releases the funds. The status of your payment might be "Pending" during the confirmation period, which means that we are still waiting to receive or verify the payment. Once we have received or verified the payment, the status gets updated to "Processing" which indicates that we are currently processing the payment to your institution.
What should I do to ensure that my payment is not rejected?
Only send the exact amount displayed on your screen.
If you pay less than the amount displayed on your screen, the payment would be canceled and you would be refunded for the amount you transferred.
If you pay more than the amount displayed on your screen, the excess amount would be refunded while the intended amount would be processed to your beneficiary.
Do not make multiple payments to the displayed account number. If you do this, your payment will be canceled and all amount sent would be refunded.
Can I make payment with the Pay with Bank Transfer option in my country?
You can make payment using the Pay with Bank Transfer option if you reside in Nigeria
Which Nigerian bank can I make payment from with this option?
You can make payments from all banks in Nigeria
What do I do when my attempt to make payment with the Pay with Bank Transfer option is declined?
When your attempt to pay with a bank transfer is declined, you should contact your bank to notify them of the payment before you re-attempt.
Are there extra fees or hidden charges when making a payment with the Pay with Bank Transfer option?
Please note that we do not charge extra fees and there are no hidden charges when making payment with the Pay with Bank Transfer option. The total amount you will pay will be displayed on your screen when you set up your payment.
